In this lesson,

  • we explore the partitive article( du, dela , de l’, des)used with verbs of consumption like( acheter, boire, manger, consommer, prendre and avoir).
  • We  go through the use of definite article(le, la , l’, les)  with verbs of preference (aimer, detester, adorer, preferer) with the same food item and meal
  • We analyze specific use of the indefinite article(un, une,des) with the verb” commander( je commander un café)
  • we study   the two cases when not to use partitive with food items.
1.the case of expression of quantity(beaucoup, un peu, un kilo, un verre, un sachet, etc) wherein the simple  preposition DE ( without articles)in front of nouns was enough( un kilo de farine, un litre de lait, etc.).
2 the negation of verbs of consomption associated with food( je ne mange pas de viande)

  • We study verbs in Er
  • We explore using other negatives expressions than ne…pas and ne … jamais you studied in french 101. Those negative expressions(  ne …rien, ne plus, ne ..nullepart, ne…personne, ne…pas encore) have their positive counter-parts (quelque chose, toujours, quelque part, quelqu’un, déjà ) that could be hidden or visible in a positive statement…
  • We also explore the restriction “ne …que”.

In this lesson,

  • We learn how to elicit information and  ask  about someone opinion using ( Qu’est ce que tu penses/vous pensez de…?
  • We also study through interviews and reading(page 167) from the ebook, cultural notions related to tatoos and piercings in France and in Tahiti. After those, we discuss in groups each other opinion about tatoos, their significance in american culture, their symbolism, etc.
  • We finally, review the vocabulary related to clothes and accessories depending on  seasons.

In this lesson,
We  study how fashion can determine one’s identity and  we discuss issue related to  brand/quality, country of origin and humanistic issues as labor condition of employees working in the fashion industry(text is page 172)
 We become more comfortable using fashion jargon to describe clothing(la coupe, la couleur, le tissu, le style) through interactive activities with classmates.P. 173 . We are able to create  different outfit depending on assigned look( BCBG, bobo, emo, hipster/punk).
We finally study the demonstrative articles (Ce, cet, cette, ces).  It appears that Ce and Cet are used for masculine formCet is used when the masculine noun starts with a vowel or a mute H, whereas ce is for masculine noun starting with consonant); Cette is for feminine noun; Ces is used as plural for all masculine and feminine form.

Pdf L3 et L4:  Les pronoms Compléments d’objets+Les verbes en Ir comme dormir

We start our lesson by learning how to ask questions using quel and its variant forms (quels, quelle, quelles).
We conjugated IR verbs like dormir .
We learn new vocabulary related to perfume industry in France, and a correlation was made to perfume in the US. Where to find them,different scents, brands, etc.
We study the direct objet complement pronom and their contextual uses.
